How do I plan a Disney cruise mixed in with a Walt Disney world stay

Ahoy, John! Welcome to planDisney. You have come to the right place, and I am happy to help you cruise through your questions.

My favorite thing to do is plan a Land and Sea vacation package. I do this before each cruise, and on our last sailing on the Disney Wish, I actually bookended the cruise with a stay at Walt Disney World both before and after. It was the perfect way to start and end my vacation.

There are so many benefits to staying either before or after your cruise. I see you are coming from Tennessee. Since you are traveling from out of state, I always recommend arriving at least the day before your sailing so you avoid any travel delays that could lead to a stressful port arrival. Mickey runs a tight ship and there are specific all aboard times to keep the schedule moving smoothly.

You have a couple of easy ways to plan a Land and Sea trip. There is unfortunately not a single site that books both at once. The simplest path is to start on the Disney Cruise Line website to choose your ideal sailing. Deciding on the time of year, destination, and ship is always such a fun part of the planning process. Once you select the cruise that fits your plans, you can book it right on the website. Then you can head over to the Walt Disney World website to look at available hotels based on your travel dates and book those directly online. I love the planning part and like to control the details of my vacations, so this method works best for me.

Your next option is to call a helpful Disney Cruise Line Cast Member who can assist you with booking both your cruise and your pre or post hotel stay.

Finally, if you have a trusted and knowledgeable Disney Cruise Line travel agent, you can always reach out to them. This is a great hands off option if you prefer someone else to manage the details of your reservations and planning.

John, I am so glad you are considering a best of both worlds Disney vacation. If you have any more questions as you continue to plan, we are always happy to steer you in the right direction. Come back and SEA us anytime.
