Ahoy, Samia!
Welcome aboard planDisney! What an exciting adventure you have on the horizon—three families, twelve happy sailors, and one unforgettable Disney cruise vacation coming your way! Planning a voyage for a big crew like yours can feel a little like steering the Black Pearl through a whirlpool, but once you find your course, it’s smooth sailing from there. Let’s chart your path to making this magical family getaway a reality!
Since there isn’t a single stateroom large enough to fit your entire party, you’ll want to look at booking multiple staterooms close together. Most
non-Concierge staterooms sleep between 3 and 5 Guests, depending on the category. Each stateroom includes a queen-size bed, a single-size sofa bed, a ceiling pull-down bed (for rooms that sleep 4 or 5 Guests), and a wall pull-down bed (for rooms that sleep 5 Guests). So, for your crew of 12, you’ll likely need three to four staterooms, ensuring that there’s at least one adult assigned to each.
To keep your family connected like Woody and Buzz, I highly
recommend connecting staterooms—these feature an interior door between them, letting you move freely back and forth without going into the hallway. If you choose staterooms with verandahs, there’s also a pixie-dusted perk—you can request that the divider between verandahs be opened to create one large shared outdoor space! It’s the perfect spot for morning coffee, late-night stargazing, or watching the coastline glide by as you sail.
If booking three staterooms, one popular strategy is to book two connecting rooms and then an inside stateroom directly across the hall. That setup keeps everyone nearby, while still giving each family their own space.
Once you have hammered out which ship, itinerary, and exact dates, you have a few options to get booked:
• Book online on the
Disney Cruise Line website (up to four staterooms at once).
• Make multiple online bookings if you need more than four staterooms or want to manage each family’s reservation separately.
• Or my personal favorite—
call Disney Cruise Line directly and have a Cast Member assist with grouping your reservations together. They can also ensure your reservations are linked, so you’ll be seated together at dinner and able to coordinate Port Adventures and activities as one big family.
I hope this helps you set your course for the perfect voyage with your crew. Before you know it, you’ll be standing on deck with the sea calling your name—just like Moana—realizing your family adventure has officially set sail!
Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
Dustin
