Hi, Robert! I’m glad to help you stay connected at sea.
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is a helpful resource, for sure! Before your vacation begins, you can make a payment, complete online check-in, and book activities. The app transforms for everyone once connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi. My husband and son don’t have Disney accounts, but they can still access the app’s onboard features.
Upon embarkation, each Guest will be prompted to link their stateroom. Once connected, everyone in your travel party can access the onboard activities and the chat feature. For safety reasons, Guests under 13 years old can use the chat function only after obtaining a unique pin from the Primary Guest in the stateroom, typically the first person on the reservation. To get the pin, simply tap the child's name on an adult's phone within the app. Your kids can then enter this pin on their app to start chatting. With your approval, they can also chat with any friends they make in the
clubs.
All the ships offer push notifications to support chat messages. Make sure you enable this feature on your phone. Another option that many cruisers use is WhatsApp or iMessage. While you can text back and forth on some devices, keep in mind that you can’t view videos or pictures until you connect to cell service.
I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions as your voyage draws near, please revisit us at planDisney. We are always ready to lend a helping hand.
SEAS the adventure!
