Hi, Sara! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
As the mom of a child on the autism spectrum, one of the things I appreciate the most about the Walt Disney World Resort is their
services for guests with disabilities. The Cast Members at the Walt Disney World Resort always go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone.
I have visited
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall with my family on several occasions. The medieval castle setting is beautiful and the food is delicious. Of course, visiting with some of our favorite
Disney Princesses is also a highlight of any meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. At this dining location, your feast will begin with a "Taste of Norway" which is served buffet-style. Your entrees will then be brought to your table.
My son can be a very picky eater, but we have always found that the Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort restaurants are extremely accommodating. I would recommend noting your concerns when you make your
dining reservations and also discussing your party's needs with a Cast Member when you arrive at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. I feel confident that they will be able to work out some type of accommodation that will make everyone in your group comfortable.
As you prepare for your vacation, you might find this
guide for guests with cognitive disabilities helpful. If you have additional questions about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with someone who has special needs, or if we can help you with any other vacation planning questions, please visit us again.
Have a magical day!
Samantha
