How would you plan your day if you wanted to go to Magic Kingdom during the day on a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party night and attend the party at night. Would you take a break back at the resort? What time? Or is the full 15+ hour day realistic?

Welcome to planDisney, Kelly! I'm so glad that I get to answer your question today. I absolutely love that you're planning a day at Magic Kingdom that includes Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, that's a seriously magical combo! You're so right to think ahead about how to pace the day, because between the attractions, entertainment, costumes, and candy, it's a lot to pack into one visit!

To answer your question honestly: a full 15+ hour day from rope drop to park close is technically possible...but probably not realistic if you really want to enjoy the party to its fullest. Even the most energetic Disney-goers, and I count myself among them, can start to feel the wear and tear by dinnertime without a break, especially in that Florida heat.

    Here's how I'd plan it:

Rope drop in the morning is a great idea if you're excited to knock out some must-do attractions early in the day. On a party day, the crowds are typically lighter because of the early closing time, and with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can score some great return times. I'd recommend enjoying the park until around lunchtime, maybe grab a meal at a favorite Quick-Service spot, and relax in the AC.

Then, head back to your resort for a midday break. This is the time to take a nap, have a dip in the pool, and most importantly, recharge for the evening ahead. You'll also need a few minutes to change into your costume! I'd aim to return to Magic Kingdom around 4:00 or 5:00 PM. That's when party guests can officially enter the park, and the energy really starts to build. If you're using Lightning Lane, you can also schedule some return times and make the most out of that block of time before the park officially closes to day guests!

Then, from 7:00 PM to midnight, you'll be all set to enjoy the party, trick-or-treat, and watch the spooktacular parade and nighttime spectacular with plenty of energy left in the tank.

So yes, you could go open to close, but taking a midday break is definitely the way to go if you want to make the most of both the day and the night. Trust me, your feet and your mood will thank you later!

    Have a magical day, Kelly!
