Hi, how should I plan my 10 day trip to Walt Disney World Florida when we arrive in the evening of the 22nd July?

Welcome to planDisney, Katie! It sounds like you're planning for quite an adventure - 10 days at the Walt Disney World Resort is sure to leave you with so many magical memories and experiences; I hope you're ready to embrace all the magic that is waiting!

Katie, without knowing the specifics of your trip (travel party details, which Disney Resort hotel you've chosen, what type of tickets you have), I'm going to give you a few general pointers to help streamline your planning! Here are some of my top planning tips:

    • Make sure you have downloaded the My Disney Experience mobile app and connected all of your reservation details to you account. This app becomes your best planning tool while visiting, and helps you do all the magical things like booking Genie+ selections, joining Virtual Queues, checking wait times, and even finding the closest bathroom!
    • Check out the Park Hours and Events Calendar for your dates. Keep in mind that the hours are subject to change, so keep an eye on this page as your trip gets closer to help you plan which parks you will want to visit each day and also what time you can expect to see the nightly fireworks shows! Don't miss the fireworks; it's my favorite way to end a Disney day!
    • Secure any last-minute dining reservations. Booking your dining in advance based on where you will be each day helps to keep your vacation plans moving. If there is a reservation you have not been able to get, keep checking! My family has had great luck recently with same-day availability as plans change and other Guests modify existing reservations.
    • Since you're visiting in the summer, consider adding an option to visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park to take a break from the heat! The water park offers thrills like the Crush 'n' Gusher water coaster, but it's also a perfect place to relax in Castaway Creek and float your worries away!
    • Familiarize yourself with Disney transportation options! If you're staying as a Guest at a Disney Resort hotel, let Disney do all the driving for you! Take a look at the options available to and from your chosen resort so you will have a plan for how to get around while you are here!
Katie, I hope this helps as you finalize your planning! You've chosen a great time to visit; Disney will be celebrating summer with some great new offerings like Tiana's Bayou Adventure and the new state-of-the-art drone show Disney Dreams That Soar, showing nightly at Disney Springs! I know you're going to have a wonderful visit! If you have any other questions, feel free to come back and let us know! At planDisney, we're all ears!

    Magic Awaits,
