We plan on coming to WDW iin 2014. Our daughter has Down Syndrome, we love coming with the ease of the Disability pass. Because of the changes will she still be able to enjoy the park like before. She does not understand waiting or have the patience to.

    Hi Angela!

Thanks for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I totally understand your concern regarding the recent changes concerning the old Guest Assistance Card at Walt Disney World Resort.  My husband will be using the new Disability Access Service Card on our upcoming vacation, and I have done a fair bit of research concerning the changes.  As always, Disney strives to provide the best experience for every guest, and I have no doubt that these changes will make your experience at Walt Disney World Resort just as magical as prior visits.

The new Disability Access Service Card will give guests a specific return time to the selected attraction, so guests will no longer be required to wait for their turn on the attraction.  Once the Cast Member assigns your party a return time, you are free to enjoy the theme park, and simply return to the attraction at your given time to enjoy the attraction.  I am am a strong believer in not making a decision until I have experienced the changes myself, however I do think this change will be a very positive change for those in need of accommodations at Walt Disney World Resort.  Disney truly wants every guest to have a positive experience, and the implementation of this change will continue to allow guests needing accommodations to enjoy their time at Walt Disney World Resort.

Please let let me know if you have any other questions Angela.  I would be happy to help.
