    I plan to charge to my room for convenience, but I need to stay within budget. Will receipts show ongoing total charged to room or just the total for each individual charge? Can I pay off my acct. at the hotel desk throughout the trip or just at check-out?

    Charging purchases to your room is a very convenient way of handling expenses during your stay; I always choose to use this method during my family vacations as well. 

    Here's the scoop: When you make a purchase, you'll use your Key to the World card for payment.  The receipt you get will not show a cumulative total of all the purchases you've made.  If you're like me, and you'd like to keep close tabs on how much you're charging, you just go to the front desk of the resort and ask for a copy of the folio that details all of the transactions you've made.  If you want, you can then compare that to your receipts to make sure everything was correctly charged.

    You are more than welcome to make payments towards your account balance at any time during your stay.  In fact, if you intend to pay cash, or in any manner other than with the credit card you leave on file, you'll want to be sure to make payment a few days before you check out.  During our most recent stay I wanted to make a sizable gift card payment towards my account balance before the total was charged to my credit card.  I just kept close tabs on my balance and once it reached the amount I wanted to pay with the gift card I went to the front desk and had them apply the gift card balance to my account.  It was a painless process. 

    One thing I learned though was that once your charges reach a certain amount they will charge the credit card on file.  You may want to check with the front desk and find out what that amount will be if you intend to use another form of payment.
