Should I plan a character breakfast before park opening on a day the park does not open early, or plan it for later in the morning when they do open early? Specifically, I'm looking at the Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom.

Heather, my friend, you're looking at a win-win here. Sky's the limit!

Here's what I like about early morning character breakfasts in a park before it opens:
    1. You get into the park before other people
    2. You can get photos of your family in the park without other people in the picture
    3. It doesn't take away from park touring time
    4. It gives you a jump on hitting attractions after breakfast because you're already in the park
Hitting morning Extra Magic Hours has its benefits too, and you can cover a lot of ground in that extra hour. On Extra Magic Hour mornings, if we make a breakfast reservation, we make it for around 10:30 a.m. so we can get some quality park time in before sitting down for brunch.

Our favorite park to do a character breakfast in prior to park opening is Magic Kingdom. For Animal Kingdom, I'd do Extra Magic Hours in the morning and then brunch at Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House.

    Whatever you do, you win!
