Hello, Tara! Welcome to planDisney!
Congratulations in advance on your 29th birthday that's coming up this October! I'd also like to extend my compliments on your strategic planning mindset. All Disney trips are fantastic, of course, but the more you think, plan, and research, the
better your adventure is going to be.
Since your trip is more than a year away, I'm going to share advice about activities and locations that are not currently being offered due to health and safety precautions. Because of that, I suggest that you check these offers to adjust your plans accordingly as we get closer to October 2021.
In my opinion, the
first treat I think you should consider is staying at a
Disney Resort hotel inside the Walt Disney World Resort. When you do that, the magic doesn't end when you leave a Theme Park -
it stays with you.
To me, the key to having the most wonderful time at a Disney Resort hotel is to find the place that matches your spirit. If you want a low-key place, with quiet grounds and subtle theming, then
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is the place to be, for example. If you want to immerse yourself in sophisticated, culturally-inspired theming, then Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is your destination. It doesn't hurt that some of the best restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort are at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, too.
But if you're a fireworks fan like me, then
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is unbeatable. My dad and I used to go to the top of Tokelau's external staircase to watch the fireworks, and I'll cherish these memories forever.
Beyond that, I suggest heading to a
spa and getting your nails done to begin this trip in style. I always find these moments relaxing, and you can even combine them with a massage, for example. You can also take a few special tours to explore the Theme Parks in unique ways. From your very own, exclusive, benefit-loaded
VIP Tour Services to a 5-hour
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour, you will certainly find new ways to soak in the magic.
On the day of your birthday, I suggest treating yourself to a special meal, and my favorite idea for this is dinner at
Victoria & Albert's at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This restaurant offers a 4-hour fine dining experience that is perfect to make you feel
amazing on your celebration.
Okay: Let me pause for a moment, because this trip is sounding
so awesome that I'm considering joining you!
I hope these tips help you create a FANTASTIC birthday trip, Tara. I'd love to help you even more, so please don't hesitate to come back with more questions. Our planDisney crew is here for you!
May the magic be with you,
Julie
