Hi Ben and welcome back to planDisney!
How exciting that you're planning to ring in the new year at Walt Disney World! I remember way back in the day heading over to Pleasure Island, now
Disney Springs, on New Year's Eve for some spectacular fun with my friends. Now, I'm lucky if I can make it to midnight without falling asleep! I love that you're looking into an alternative to being inside of a theme park for some holiday festivities.
I haven't seen any announcements yet for New Year's Eve activities, but the best place to keep an eye out for them would be the
Disney Parks Blog. I did a Google search of past New Year's Eve activities and it does look like
Disney's BoardWalk has had some fun entertainment, including a live DJ and a countdown on the Village Green. You should be able to see some of the fireworks from
EPCOT as well from around Crescent Lake. I have my fingers crossed for you that there will be a fun way to party 2023 away.
The transportation schedule hasn't been published yet for new year's eve, but the
Disney Skyliner is the best way to get from Disney's BoardWalk to
Disney's Art of Animation Resort and should be running after EPCOT closes. Please note that it will be extremely busy once the park closes, so the line for the Skyliner might be really long, but the line constantly moves and you should be back in your room and in bed in no time. An alternative to complimentary Disney transportation would be to hire a taxi, a rideshare service or use the
Disney Minnie Van Service, provided through the Lyft app. The two Resorts are near each other, so it would be a quick ride back.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
