We plan to buy 5 single day tickets through the military base for our upcoming trip. If while we are at Disney, we decide to do two parks in one day; can we upgrade one of the military single day passes to a hopper pass?

    Hi Nicolette!

Welcome BACK to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's great to see you back asking another Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR. I'm a Military wife and am very familiar with these tickets that can be purchased on base, and I have a few suggestions. However, I must admit that I'm not sure if you have a group of five people buying 1-day tickets for a quick day trip, or if your travel party is thinking about getting five 1-day tickets, so here's the info for both!

First off, yes! Any valid Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park ticket is able to be upgraded to the wonderful Park Hopper option, even one day passes as well as all options purchased on U.S. Military Installations. These upgrades can be made at any Ticket Booth or Guest Relations location either as you enter your first Disney Theme Park or minutes before you go through the turnstiles of your second park of the day. Do remember that tickets purchased on base don't charge sales tax vs. tickets and upgrades made at the park. And Pro Tip: Each park has two Guest Relations locations, one just outside the park entrance near the turnstiles and one just after the turnstiles once inside. I find that the inside Guest Relations locations are less busy in the morning and the outside locations are less busy in the afternoon. And bonus, you might even be able to make this upgrade at the front desk of your Disney Resort Hotel or in the My Disney Experience Mobile App after your party has entered your first park.

The cost to upgrade a 1-day ticket is currently $65*, but I do have a few tips and suggestions:

~ You could also upgrade to the "Park Hopper Plus Option" for $85* which would turn your 1-day Disney Theme Park ticket into a Park Hopper. BUT, it would also include a bonus ticket to be redeemed the next day at the brand new NBA Experience, a round of mini golf, or my favorite, a full day admission to either Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Talk about an awesome two-for-one!

~ If you're planning on being in Disney's Theme Parks multiple days, or even if you truly only have one full day but are staying in a hotel in the area, to seriously consider the U.S. Military Walt Disney World Resort Multi-day Promotional Theme Park Ticket, the price of which includes the standard Park Hopper Option. The price of these tickets is currently $265* for the 4-day ticket, $283* for the 5-day and $301* for a 6-day ticket. And actually I've purchased the 4-day tickets for trips when I only have two full days in the parks and used the other two days for the few remaining hours a park is open as soon as I arrive into town and to pack in a bit of Disney Magic on the morning I have to leave.

I hope that this helped to plan your future Disney Day or Days, Nicolette, and if you have any more Walt Disney World Resort questions, We're All Ears!
