Bright Suns, Becky! Welcome to planDisney!
Building a lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop is such a fun experience in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s immersive, captivating, and just plain fun!
To answer your question, Becky, policies will vary depending on the airline you’re flying with. For specific details on what exactly you can bring onboard, it’s best practice to contact the airline directly. Based on what you’ve told me, I assume you are flying with British Airways. I was able to find an article on the Frequently Asked Questions section of the British Airways website that specifically addresses lightsabers from Savi’s Workshop. I encourage you to confirm these details with British Airways closer to your travel date, as policies can change over time.
What I can tell you is that the blade of the lightsaber measures approximately 31 inches in length. The hilt will vary in length depending on which one you choose during the experience, but they’re approximately 10 to 13 inches long. The blade can be separated from the hilt, so that is certainly an option if it makes traveling easier. A carrying case is also included, which is great for safekeeping, regardless of how you choose to transport it home.
I hope you’ve found this information helpful, Becky. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge might be my favorite land in all of
Walt Disney World Resort. It really makes you feel like you’re stepping into the Star Wars universe.
