Plan on booking a package via Disney for hotel and park tix. If I book a package with a neighbor hotel and park ticket, can I change my hotel reservation later to stay on property? Also, if a new discount becomes available could I apply that? Thanks!

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! I’m so excited to hear that you’re planning a Disney vacation in the near future. My cure for the end-of-vacation blues is always planning my next Disneyland adventure!

There are lots of hotel options for your future visit to the Disneyland Resort. You can stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels or at one of the Good Neighbor Hotels nearby. As you mentioned, each vacation package can include both hotel accommodations and park tickets. A Cast Member at the Walt Disney Travel Company would be happy to help you create your dream vacation package. They’re available daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM (PST) at (714) 956-6425.

I was able to get in touch with a friendly Cast Member at the Walt Disney Travel Company, and they confirmed that you can modify your trip up to four days prior to check-in. This means that if you book a stay through the Walt Disney Travel Company at a Good Neighbor Hotel, you can later decide to modify your reservation to stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. Keep in mind that rates may change depending on your new hotel room, and you’ll need to pay any difference. Additionally, availability may be limited if you’re trying to make changes close to your check-in date.

Also, please note that payments for your vacation package must be completed 30 days prior to your trip. Any modifications made after that point would need to be paid in full at the time of the change.

If your vacation package later qualifies for a discount or promotion, you can reach out to the Walt Disney Travel Company, and they can apply that discount to your package. I highly recommend making your hotel reservations as soon as possible to lock in your preferred dates, and then checking back periodically to see what offers or discounts become available for 2026.

I hope this was helpful, Ben! I have plenty more advice and park tips for you and your party, so please come back with more questions. We here at planDisney are always happy to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your next Disney adventure.

    Happy planning!
