Ahoy, Diana!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can tell you are a planner because you are on the ball about booking a placeholder on your upcoming Disney cruise. Having another sailing on the horizon helps lessen the end of vacation blues, doesn’t it? (One of our favorite photos to take in the Atrium Lobby when we disembark is our family holding onto the character statue and acting like we aren’t going to leave!)
Placeholders are an excellent option when you know you want to sail again with Disney Cruise Line, but you aren’t exactly sure when you want to hit the high seas again.
Currently, a placeholder allows Guests up to 24 months from the date the placeholder was booked to set sail. So if you plan on
booking the placeholder during your April 2020 cruise, then it will last until April 2022. Pay attention to what day you book the placeholder. That will be the date from which the 24 months will be calculated.
If traveling within 24 months of the initial placeholder booking date doesn’t work, your best bet would be to cancel completely and rebook for a later date. But be aware that cancelling the placeholder means you would lose any onboard booking benefits received.
Currently, you can explore all the
Disney Cruise Line itineraries through May 2021 or await the announcement of new ones. One resource that is a great way to stay on top of Disney announcements is the
Disney Parks Blog.
If you have any other questions about your future cruise with Disney Cruise Line, ask away. Thank you for stopping by to SEA us!
