Hiya Jamie!
Welcome to planDisney! I love that you are planning for a big adventure! Sharing plans and experiences at Walt Disney World Resort is easy through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App.
If you have not done so already, make sure that all the people in your party in all the rooms you occupy are linked together on the
"My Family & Friends List." If you have anyone under the age of 13 or do not want to create an account, you can make a managed profile for them. Just make sure everyone has a profile or account and they are all linked together. Once you are all linked together and sharing plans, one person can book dining reservations and spots on the
Virtual Queue for everyone. Just so you are aware, sometimes finding
dining reservations for more than 6 people can be very difficult so consider breaking up your large party into smaller groups and if you wish to eat together aim to find reservation times that are no more than 15 minutes apart. Then, arrive at the restaurant at least 20 minutes before the earliest reservation and let the Cast Members at check-in know that you are one group that would love to eat together. It's not guaranteed but I have had success with this 90 percent of the time. In addition, the maximum number of people in a party that can join the Virtual Queue is 12. So, if your party has more than 12 people you will have to have another person with a My Disney Experience Account to help out the overflow of people.
The return of
dining plans is so exciting. I love the freedom of having my meals prepaid and ready to be enjoyed! Dining plans are linked to the room reservation which means that everyone staying in a room together must have the same plan and their meals and snacks are reserved for those in that room. It cannot be combined with a party from another room and the meals and snacks from another room will not show up in your My Disney Experience App. The balance can be viewed on the app and you can use it to purchase meals and snacks through
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. (Have I proved how helpful this app is yet?) When I last used the dining plan with my extended family, one person from each room used their
Disney band (or MagicBand as it is known in the US) to tap on the device presented by the server at each meal. Since you are looking to only have two rooms it should not be too much trouble. My group had four rooms and it was interesting.
I hope that I was able to help. If you have any more questions please feel free to
let me know!
Happy Planning!
