I plan to book a group trip, but need to know about your deposit refund policy on the hotel . Thank you Tricia

Hey Howdy Hey Patricia and welcome to planDisney!

It's super exciting to hear that you are in the process of planning a group trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. Thank you for stopping by with your question about vacation package-specific terms. Let's dive in and get you all set to get back to planning your Magical vacation.

When it comes to booking a vacation to Walt Disney World, you will find a flexible process in the event that you may need to cancel your vacation. When booking a vacation package to Walt Disney World, this includes a stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and Theme Park Tickets, the current policy, which is subject to change without notice, requires a $200 down payment. Full Payments are due 30 days before your arrival. Any cancelation made 30 days or more from your date of arrival will receive a full refund. Cancelations made between 2 and 29 days from your date of arrival will get a refund minus the down payment as a cancelation fee. Cancelations made less than 2 days will forfeit their total.

If you were planning on booking a room-only reservation for your group, this is a little different. The current deposit is the total amount of a 1-night stay. If you cancel 5 days or more from your date of arrival you will receive a full refund. Cancelations made within 5 days will lose the deposit.

As you are considering booking a vacation for a larger group, it might also be a good idea to discuss travel insurance. When you book a vacation package to Walt Disney World, you do have the option to add travel insurance provided by Affinity Travel. You can add this anytime before your final payment and do not have to decide when placing your deposit. Travel insurance is such a good idea to purchase if you do suspect even the slightest chance you may have to cancel or modify your vacation at the last minute. This insurance will protect the larger investment you make in booking your vacation. Make sure you check out the policy and shop around as well to select the right one for your travel needs.

I hope you can book your trip soon as we cannot wait to welcome you to the Most Magical Place on Earth real soon! If you have any further questions, please feel free to stop back, we are always happy to help.

    Happy planning,

    Nick
