We plan to book a cruise and my best friend and her family plan to also book the same cruise. Is there any way to ensure that we have dining together and rooms in close proximity? Do I have to use a travel agent for this?

    Hello, Mallory!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney. Sailing on the Disney Cruise Line with your best friend sounds like the perfect vacation! My most favorite cruises are when my family sails with friends and extended family members.

You have a couple of options to connect your plans. First, you could book both staterooms under one reservation. Just select "Add Another Stateroom" at the beginning of the booking process on the Disney Cruise Line website. When doing this, you will be given the option to select connecting staterooms. These staterooms have an interior door that connects the two rooms. You will be directed to a deck plan during the booking process where you can select connecting staterooms or staterooms that are next to each other without an interior door (a broken line on the interior wall indicates connecting staterooms). Guests are typically directed to select their first stateroom, and once finishing up that process, they can complete the information for the second stateroom.

Another option would keep your reservations separate while allowing you to dine together. First, log into your account on the Disney Cruise Line website and make your reservation. I suggest that both families book their staterooms around the same time so you can view the deck plan and choose from available staterooms near each other. After that is completed, select "Already Booked" at the top of the page and click "My Reservations." Locate your cruise information, and choose "Add Reservations." You will need your friend's confirmation number, birth date, and last name to link her reservation to your account. You and your best friend's family can then make plans together while keeping separate reservations. If it is easier, you can also call Disney Cruise Line to speak with a friendly Cast Member to link reservations.

I recommend downloading the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app after making your reservations. You can use the app to book Port Adventures and Onboard Activities during your booking window. During your voyage, you can check the app for activity schedules, rotational dining information, and more. You can also communicate with friends and family on the ship using the app.

Mallory, I hope your voyage is filled with joy and laughter! Please contact planDisney again if you have additional questions.

    Happy sailing!
    Jen
