I just spoke with a Disneyland Paris representative, and he helpfully shared that because offerings vary at each Disney Hotel, you'll want to reach out directly to
Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel by email (DLP.NWY.GUEST.RELATIONS@disney.com) to see what your options are. Even if they are unable to decorate the room, they might be able to help you have a special snack or parcel delivered as a fun surprise. If the offerings aren't exactly what you were hoping for, you might also consider bringing your own decorations or treats from home. Just be sure they don't leave residue or damage the room in any way, and you're good to go!
Since you're celebrating at Disney Hotel New York, I'm betting your son is a big fan of superheroes, so don't forget to book your timeslot for Super Hero Station. This can conveniently be done 7 days in advance through the
Disneyland Paris mobile app. Although you can only hold one booking at a time, you're more than welcome to make another once your first has been redeemed, pending availability, because you never know what super friend might appear!
