I would like to plan a birthday party for my son (will be one) and my Mom (will be 61 on our vacation) with a cake and character, etc. How do I get started??

Hi, Sheldon!   Any character meal can be turned into a birthday celebration!

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is the perfect place for celebrating.   When you make your Advance Dining Reservations 90 days prior at (407)WDW-DINE, let them know you have 2 birthdays.   They will make a note on your reservation and they usually present a special sweet treat to those celebrating.   While there are plenty of desserts offered at the buffet,  you can order a mini-cake to be brought to your table, just let them know at the podium when checking in.   The cakes are about $15.    Sometime during your meal, the music comes on, and everyone is encouraged to sing and dance as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and the whole gang come out to party!

If Mickey and Pals aren't your thing, a similar experience takes place at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom  with Pooh, Tigger, and friends.

I hope your mom and son have wonderful birthdays!   Make sure your mom signs up HERE for her free birthday park admission ticket and pick up free Happy Birthday buttons at guest services.   Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
