Welcome to planDisney Melissa, and thank you for your question! It’s so exciting to hear that you’re planning a visit to
Magic Kingdom, especially during the fall season when the park is beautifully decorated for Halloween. With festive touches around every corner and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returning on select nights, it’s a truly enchanting time to experience the magic!
If you plan to visit Magic Kingdom on a day when
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) takes place, but do not have a party ticket, you will be required to leave the park by 6:00 PM. The Halloween party is a separately ticketed event that officially begins at 7:00 PM, but guests with party tickets are allowed to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM, giving them a head start on the festivities.
Starting around 4:00–6:00 PM, Disney Cast Members begin setting up for the party and distributing special wristbands to party guests. These wristbands are how Disney identifies who is allowed to remain in the park after regular operating hours. If you do not have a wristband, you will be politely directed toward the park exits once the party time approaches. Cast Members perform wristband checks at attraction queues, dining locations, and throughout the park to ensure only party guests are enjoying the exclusive event offerings.
This is important to know if you’re planning your day, especially if you don’t want your Magic Kingdom experience to end early. If you’d like to enjoy a full day and evening in the park on a party date, consider purchasing a MNSSHP ticket. With it, you’ll gain access to special entertainment, rare character meet-and-greets, trick-or-treat trails, party-exclusive snacks and merchandise, and a Halloween-themed fireworks show.
If you’re not planning to attend the party, another option is to park hop to a different theme park that stays open later. With a valid park hopper ticket, you can enjoy Magic Kingdom through the afternoon and then hop over to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom to continue the fun. MNSSHP tickets for the 2025 season go on sale to the general public beginning May 22, 2025. You can check the official event page for party dates, pricing, and updates.
Wishing you a spook-tacular time during your Walt Disney World visit Melissa! And if you have more questions as you plan, feel free to reach back out, we're always happy to help sprinkle in a little extra pixie dust.
