Hello, Robin! It's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney. Your desire to hit the ground running as soon as you arrive to Walt Disney World Resort is so relatable. I always encourage my family to get a move on because there's so much to do and see, and I don't want to miss a thing! Let's talk about parking on your arrival day.
Guests of
Disney Resort Collection hotels, including
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, enjoy
complimentary standard theme park parking for the length of their resort stay, even before checking in. You can roll up to the park of your choice and let the Cast Member know you're staying on property. They may ask you for ID to verify your stay, and then you'll be good to go. In the words of Lightning McQueen, "Ka-chow!"
You can also park at your resort if you wish, then take one of the available transportation options to the park you want to visit. Just let the Cast Member know you are arriving early and they will direct you where to park.
I am a big fan of boat transportation, so give that a try if you're heading to Magic Kingdom Park. For me there is nothing better than sailing across Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon with the wind in my hair and the sun on my skin. I sometimes just take a round trip cruise from the resort to the park and back: that's how much I love it! To get to the boat dock from the entrance of the resort, take the internal bus loop to the Settlement Depot bus stop, then walk past Pioneer Hall and the Settlement Trading Post and you'll see the dock right ahead.
I hope you have an amazing stay at Fort Wilderness! Make sure to check out the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue while you're there. It's a rootin'-tootin' all-you-care-to-enjoy good time!
Come back and see me at planDisney with more questions, Robin! I'm happy to help in any way that I can.
Stay magical,
Scott
