Welcome back to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cheryl!
When my family tours
Walt Disney World, we plan our days around dining, so I know how important it is to enjoy your meals at a location that's right for one and all--especially those whose tastes are on the milder side. :-)
You are probably drawn to
Character Dining experiences because they are typically buffets or feature more traditional fare. Let's look at some of the most popular Character Dining locations and find other spots that offer those milder options nearby.
On a Magic Kingdom Park day, you may have enjoyed The Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's--both classic, delicious buffets. Instead, consider visiting
The Wave...of American Flavors located at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. They offer a delicious breakfast buffet, yet you can order traditional items from the menu as well. Dinner entrees include Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Herb-Roasted Chicken Breast, Seared Gnocchi, and Pork Tenderloin, among other dishes.
While touring Disney's Hollywood Studios, check out
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, one of my family's favorite places! Their salads, soups, flatbreads, steaks, and pasta rank among our Disney Parks favorites, so you might find some new favorites, too.
Over at EPCOT, we absolutely love
Sunshine Seasons, a fantastic Quick Service location that offers so many options; there's sure to be something for every palate there. You may also enjoy the mild combinations of stir-fry options at
Teppan Edo, in EPCOT's Japan Pavilion. It's a must-do for us.
On a non-park day, check out the menu for the always-delicious
Wolfgang Puck Express at Disney Springs Marketplace. This is the Quick Service restaurant that eats like a Table Service location. So many delicious options, and the prices can't be beat!
While looking through these menus, if you're not sure about the entree offerings, consider ordering an appetizer, a soup, and a salad, as those items may combine for a perfect meal that's right for you.
As you put your final pixie-dusted plans together for your upcoming trip, be sure to check out this very helpful post
Dining: Know Before You Go. You'll find the latest updates about all things Disney Dining there as well as on
Disney Parks Blog. I can't wait to plan our dining options for our upcoming stay, and I'm sure you're excited to find new favorites!
Be sure to send up additional questions, too, Cheryl. We love to help!
