Ahoy, Jennifer!
Welcome aboard planDisney! A
placeholder reservation is truly one of the best treasures on the high seas—there’s no downside to booking one, and it’s practically like finding a bit of pixie dust for your future voyage!
Now, I know this isn’t the "happily ever after" answer you were hoping for, but a placeholder reservation cannot be used to book a GTY (Guaranteed Stateroom) or any other restricted fare. This includes
Florida resident, military, and
other discounted rates. These types of bookings come with their own built-in savings, so Disney doesn't allow stacking discounts—including the perks of a placeholder.
But don’t let that sink your excitement! In my experience, a placeholder can still be a better deal—especially if you use it to book as soon as new itineraries are released. I’ve found that booking early with a placeholder often gets me a better price than a GTY, plus I get to choose my exact stateroom instead of rolling the dice on an assigned room. Knowing I’ll be happy with my location is worth its weight in gold doubloons!
Just remember to check the blockout dates and use your placeholder within 24 months of booking it. That gives you plenty of time to dream about your next magical voyage!
I hope this helps as you chart your course for another amazing adventure on the high seas! If you have any other questions, I’m happy to help—you know where to find me!
Sea ya real soon with luck in the air and magic everywhere,
Dustin
