Ahoy, Jacqueline! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your questions about Disney vacations, including sailing where magic meets the sea. If you placed money on your account on your last cruise, then you probably made a
Placeholder Reservation.
Disney Cruise Line has a special onboard offer called a Placeholder Reservation that allows you to unlock future savings of at least 10% on your next cruise by putting down a deposit while you are still onboard. The offer is limited to one future cruise booking per household for a maximum of two staterooms and currently requires a $250.00 deposit per stateroom. Your future cruise must set sail within 24 months from when your Placeholder Reservation was booked, plus sail dates are always subject to availability and some blockout dates do apply.
You can find all of the details about your Placeholder Reservation on the
Disney Cruise Line website under your MyDisney account. Start by clicking on the tab labeled “Already Booked” at the top of the main website and you will be prompted to login to your MyDisney account. Then click on the “My Reservations” option under “My Disney Cruise” and you will be able to select any of your upcoming cruises or Placeholders. You should see the “Future Cruise Placeholder” page and it will list the expiration date. If you want to start looking for your next cruise, then you can use the “Search All Cruises” button on that page. The $250.00 deposit per stateroom that you already paid will go towards the cost of the cruise that you select once you finalize the booking.
If you do not use your Placeholder Reservation within the 24 months, then your refund will automatically be processed back to your original form of payment. However, if you would like to initiate a refund now rather than waiting, then there will also be an option labeled “Cancel My Placeholder” on that same reservation page. Just beware that once you cancel a Placeholder Reservation, you cannot get it back.
Disney Cruise Line recently announced all of the
itineraries for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028, so you should now be able to see all of the options for your Placeholder Reservation from last year. Best of luck finding your perfect itinerary and remember that we are always here at planDisney if you have any other questions. Happy sailing!
