Bright suns, Juan!
I can see that you are making your way to a
galaxy far, far away tomorrow, so let's jump into lightspeed and get you an answer to your question!
It sounds like you are gearing up for your young Jedi to build a custom lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop, and I love to hear that you are making a reservation ahead of time. This experience is quite popular, and while same-day reservations can sometimes be available, it's best to secure some time with Savi ahead of your park day. When making the reservation, you will enter the name of the "builder", which would be your child. Each builder is allowed to enter with two Guests who can stand behind the builder and observe. I did this with my son not too long ago, and I just have to say it was an experience neither of us will ever forget!
I highly recommend arriving about 15 minutes ahead of time to check in and get yourselves settled before the experience begins. This allows you time to soak in the sights and sounds and prepare for becoming one with the force. Before you head in, your Jedi will be asked to choose from one of four hilt themes - Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, or Protection and Defense. I don't want to say too much, but once this selection is made, your Jedi will receive a pin that will identify their choice once inside. It's all magic from here on out, so let yourself be carried away by the story and enjoy!
You'll want to remember this moment forever, so afterward, head over to the
Millennium Falcon. There is typically a
Disney PhotoPass photographer stationed just in front who can take a few photos of this epic moment of your child wielding their new lightsaber! Even though we did Savi's at the end of a long day, I am so, so happy we made the effort to take these photos. They bring a big smile to my face every time I see them and bring us right back to Batuu and that special moment together.
Juan, I know you are in for some magical memory-making. If you have any more questions, please come back to see us here at
planDisney.
May the force be with you!
Tara
