Which place would you recommend, if you want to have Dinner and watch the fireworks at Epcot? Rose & Crown or La Hacienda de San Angel? How is the food at these place? Thanks.

Hi Karie Ann! This is a tough call as both can offer some awesome viewing of the great Illuminations show. Obviously the first issue is that you can never be guaranteed of a window table where you get the best views. You have a better chance at Rose and Crown as there are tables outside and you can request at check-in to have one of them but there are also many others doing the same thing. And unfortunately guests just drag out dinners so they can sit and watch even though other guests are anxiously waiting for a table.

The other factor about viewing of Illuminations deals with mother nature and unfortunately you just can't predict what she will do. The wind will definitely affect viewing and it often heads toward the Rose and Crown and rarely affects the Mexican Pavilion area. So looking at all the factors it becomes a toss up and so you probably should just choose which menu you prefer.

I have had great meals at both. La Hacienda has quickly become a repeat restaurant for the members of my family who all love Mexican food. The shrimp tacos are unbelievable and their seafood or meat platters for two are really good. My family would choose La Hacienda first but they are true to the cuisine of Mexico. If you go to Rose and Crown my suggestion is the fish and chips they are so famous for or the shepherds pie. My hubby loves the lamb dishes.

My last thought is about where you will need to go after Illuminations. If you are using the buses or the monorail then I suggest you watch from Mexico as that is a shorter walk to the front of the park. If you are a guest at the Boardwalk, Yacht or Beach Club resorts then dine at Rose and Crown since the International Gateway is right there.  Hope I have helped a little.....dining becomes such a personal decision.
