Hi Jennie,
Welcome to planDisney!
Looking at your arrival date, I am relieved to see that you have some time! First things first, if you have not tried splitting the party into four and four, that would be my first suggestion. Look for two reservations around the same time. When I am trying to make
advanced dining reservations for a larger party, I usually look for a few smaller reservations within 15 minutes of each other. When making those reservations, just remember that you need to select a different person to be the lead Guest on each reservation.
There are also a few reservation finder services online that will assist. We always use the free versions. And, I have had great luck just setting aside a few hours one night and constantly searching for availability. Do not give up hope. Cancelations do happen. I just planned a last-minute trip with my girls. I booked the trip a week in advance and we were able to get some great dining reservations, one of which came through the night before!
Make sure to also have the
My Disney Experience Mobile App downloaded. We have loved using
Mobile Dine Check-in and
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. Keep trying for that advanced dining reservation though, my family prefers dining reservations because they give us a specific time to eat!
Jennie, until you are able to make those reservations at your preferred dining location, go ahead and make a reservation somewhere. The last thing you want is a hungry crew. Stick with the planning and keep checking those dining reservations. I am sending a little extra dining reservation pixie dust your way!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
