Ahoy there, Cynthia! Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you sailed our way with your question about where to see the placeholder reservations you currently have! I'm thrilled you've taken the "planDrew-approved" approach of booking a placeholder (or it sounds like perhaps several) - it's one of the things my family does without fail on every Disney Cruise Line vacation!
Placeholder reservations are without a doubt one of the most
magical things you can do aboard the ship - seriously! Where else can you save on prevailing rates and receive the flexibility of choosing your next cruise for two years? If there's a better way to stave off the sadness of debarkation day - other than doing a back-to-back sailing - I have yet to find it!
You won't see placeholders on the
Disney Cruise Line website under "My Reservations" since they don't exactly make berth in the same place as fully-booked sailings. This is also why to convert a placeholder into a full reservation, you always need to
call a crew member to select your sailing, and there currently isn't a way to "redeem" your placeholder online!
When you pulled into port and made that sad walk down the gangway at the end of your last cruise, an email confirmation should have been waiting for you in your inbox sometime between 24-72 hours after you returned home. Sometimes I climb to the crow's nest and search for this email using the term "onboard booking confirmation," since those words are usually in the subject line! And if the email is as hard to find as a spot in the front row at the
Walt Disney Theatre, a crew member can look up your placeholder by your name and other information when you call!
I hope that puts you more at ease about the whereabouts of your placeholder reservations, Cynthia! Thank you so much for your question, and if you think of any others as you continue your planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Fair winds and following seas!
Andrew
