    Place holder on cruise

    Ahoy there, Marielizabeth!

Welcome aboard planDisney! Placeholder Reservations are one of my favorite offers from Disney, and I completely understand wanting to dive a little deeper into how they work. It’s one of those hidden gems that can make future sailings feel a little more magical before you even book them.

When it comes to your question, I’m not totally sure what specific part of the offer you’re looking for, so I’m going to cast a wide net and cover the big picture. If I miss your exact question, feel free to sail back my way and we’ll get you squared away.

A Placeholder Reservation, also known as the Onboard Offer, is one of my favorite ways to save on a future cruise. While you’re onboard a Disney cruise, you can place a $250 deposit, or $500 if you want to reserve the offer for two staterooms. That deposit then unlocks savings of at least 10% on a future sailing that departs within 24 months. Recently, Disney has even offered savings of up to 25% on select sailings, and in some cases, certain Concierge staterooms can be included in the 10% discount.

One of the best parts about this offer, and the reason I recommend it so often, is the flexibility. Even though you’re putting money down, the deposit is fully refundable if you decide not to use it within that 24-month window. It’s kind of like having a little bit of pixie dust tucked away for your next adventure, just waiting for the right itinerary to come along.

Now, if you already have a Placeholder Reservation and are ready to use it, the process is pretty simple. You can head to the Disney Cruise Line website, go to the “Already Booked” section to find your reservation, and start the booking process right from there. It will show you eligible sailings along with the discounted rates tied to your offer. If you placed a $500 deposit for two staterooms, you will want to call Disney Cruise Line directly so they can assist with booking both rooms. And if you assigned your placeholder to a travel agent, they will take care of everything for you.

I hope this helps give you a better understanding of how Placeholder Reservations work and why they’re such a popular option for repeat cruisers. It’s a simple way to keep the magic going and start dreaming about your next sailing before your current one even ends.

Sea ya real soon as springtime magic begins to ripple across the water,
