Is there a place to check luggage for a day while visiting one of the Walt Disney World parks? We’re coming in from a cruise and would like to spend a day at Disney World before flying home. Can we use bell services even if we aren’t staying at a resort?

Hey there Elise and welcome to planDisney!

There's nothing like ending off a cruise vacation with another mini-vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth, and as someone who's spent a lot of time making the trek to Walt Disney World Resort on debarkation day over the years with luggage in tow - I know how challenging it may be to find options to store your things for a quick visit to the theme parks. Here are a few helpful insights that could be useful to you during your brief visit for the day:

    • There are limited numbers of lockers available to rent at the entrances of the theme parks with larger sizes at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom; I highly recommend measuring your luggage to see whether they'll fit these dimensions if you intend on heading directly to the theme parks from the port.
    • During our most recent stay this week we had already checked out with our luggage and made our way over to Disney's Contemporary Resort in order to enjoy lunch at Steakhouse 71. Prior to our reservation time, the Bell Services Cast Members directed us outside to the valet desk where they let us know that we could leave our bags and head to the theme parks following our meal. Locations like the Walt Disney World Swan or Dolphin hotels that see folks visiting for the day for conferences and events, or to spend a day relaxing in the Mandara Spa might also be able to accept luggage. (It is always a good idea to not only ask the Bell Services folks first as policies are always subject to change without prior notice and may be up to the discretion of their management, but providing a gratuity for the convenience or whenever a Cast Member goes above and beyond is something that is always appreciated!)
    • If you're driving a rental as you make your way from the port to Walt Disney World Resort and back to the airport, you might find it easier to leave your luggage safely locked away in your vehicle while you park for the day

There are also a number of local luggage storage services closer to the area surrounding Disney Springs that you may be able to look up ahead of your voyage, and depending on how much you're intending to bring along with you - I hope you find an option that provides you with the least amount of hassle in the end!

May all your theme park journeys continue unencumbered!
