Hiya Vickie,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your water park question! As a Florida resident, I completely agree that adding the
Water Park and Sports option to an Annual Pass is a game-changer. There is truly nothing better than taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks and cooling off with a relaxing water park day under that Florida sunshine.
So Vickie, let’s dive right into your question. Unlike the Pixie Dust Pass, which has certain
blackout dates for the theme parks, the Water Park and Sports option does not follow those same blackout date rules for the water parks. You also do not need a park reservation to visit either Disney water park, since they do not use the same reservation system as the theme parks. That means you are free to enjoy a plunge down
Summit Plummet at
Blizzard Beach or catch some waves over at the
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool.
One important thing to keep in mind is that Disney water parks can occasionally close due to weather, seasonal schedules, capacity, or extended refurbishments, so I always recommend checking the hours and availability in the
My Disney Experience app before heading out for the day.
And if you are looking to make your day even more relaxing, I highly recommend checking out the private shaded areas available at both parks. At Typhoon Lagoon, you can rent a
Beachcomber Shack, while Blizzard Beach offers
Polar Patios. These are such a nice little home base for the day where you can relax in the shade, store your belongings, and take a break between water slides and wave pool adventures.
Vickie, I hope this helps answer your question and gets you excited for some fun in the sun. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by and visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
