Hi Taylor, welcome to planDisney! It’s always exciting to talk about the
Pixar Place Hotel. The design and attention to detail truly bring the artistry and whimsy of Pixar films to life. The
rooftop deck is one of the highlights of the hotel, featuring a pool, splash pad, waterslide, and game area. It’s a relaxing spot with lots of charm, so I get why you’re curious about the timing of the upcoming refurbishment.
Here’s the scoop: The rooftop deck will
undergo a refurbishment starting February 17, 2025. A friendly Cast Member at the hotel front desk shared that the work is expected to take around one month. Of course, weather and other factors might affect the timing, but I'm hopeful it’ll be ready in time for your visit!
The Pixar Place Hotel has a plan, though, so Guests can "just keep swimming." If the rooftop area is still closed during your stay, you’ll have full access to the
pools at the nearby Disneyland Hotel. The pool area is fantastic, with a vibe that is a mix of tropical and nostalgic. There are small water slides for the little ones, larger Monorail-themed slides, a Steamboat Willie splash pad, and multiple pools and hot tubs.
One of my favorite things about the Pixar Place Hotel is the chance to enjoy the
Disneyland fireworks from the rooftop deck. And the good news here is, even with the refurbishment, Guests can still gather there to watch the show on select nights.
As you explore the hotel, keep an eye out for some Pixar favorites. You may come across Joe Gardner from "Soul" playing the piano in the lobby or Bing Bong from "Inside Out" greeting guests. The hotel also offers a special entrance to California Adventure, which is a convenient perk!
Taylor, I hope this sprinkles some pixie dust on your plans. Wishing you a journey full of wonder, laughter, and memories as vibrant and joyful as a Pixar adventure.
Take care,
Kriss
