Will Pirates and Pals return? it’s the only way to meet and greet Captain Hook.

    Ahoy Thomas,

I'm so glad you followed the "second star to the right" to our little corner of magic planDisney. For each of us Disney fans, there is a special character that we hope to catch a glimpse of, so I know how important it is to make those magical memories come to life.

Many of our beloved favorite experiences have either returned or been reimagined, so I always say, "never, say never." Not too long ago, I told guests such as yourself that I had no news on if and when Happily Ever After would come back, but it returned better and brighter than ever earlier this month. Unfortunately, Disney's Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage has not yet returned, and I do not have any news to share on a return date. Captain Hook tends to be a surprise guest when he does appear and almost always for a limited time if he is doing meet and greets at all. That said, he is not currently greeting potential crewmates at this time. In my experience, I've only spotted Captain Hook lately swinging by during the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom.

I'm not sure what your future trip plans are, Thomas, but I do have one place where you may be able to catch a glimpse at Captain Hook. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a personal favorite of mine, is known for highlighting all things villainous and spooky. It also happens to be where characters we don't often see come out to meet and greet Guests (like Jafar, for instance). Captain Hook is usually a part of Mickey's "Boo To You" Halloween Parade and sometimes has meet and greets (subject to availability). I didn't see him last year, but I spotted him in 2019 (the previous year that the event occurred before last year). I'm sorry I don't have better news for you at this time, Thomas. As you look towards planning your trips, I highly recommend checking your My Disney Experience mobile app. You can see what characters are doing meet and greets that day, and perhaps Captain Hook will appear. After all, they say, "All the world is made of faith, trust, and pixie dust."

    Happy Planning,
