Pin trading; would you recommend this for a 2yr old and a 5yr old?

Hi, Heather!    Pin Trading is very popular around WDW, but I really wouldn't recommend it for young children.  For one thing, those pins are sharp!  I would not want to see your kids get hurt.   Another thing is the pins can get heavy on the lanyards, and I can almost guarantee that you will end up carrying around the pins and lanyards!  (Not to mention small backings/pieces that may not be suitable for this age.)

I suggest waiting until they are a bit older and the hazard goes away and they can appreciate it more!  If you are looking for a collectible, take a look at the Disney Racers.  They are small cars that come decorated as so many fun Disney characters.  At about $5 each, this might be a better idea for this age (both my son and daughter love these!)

I hope you are not disappointed in my answer, but look at Pin Trading as something to look forward to in a few years!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
