Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dawn! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question.
I see that you'll be headed to my favorite place, the Walt Disney World Resort, in August! My husband and I have embraced the Florida summers and traveled to the parks the last few years during this time as well.
Dawn, while there is not a dedicated picnic area outside
Magic Kingdom Park, I do have good news- you are able to bring your picnic into the park! I love that (with
a few restrictions) outside food and beverage are welcome. The website states that alcoholic beverages and glass containers are prohibited, so make sure to keep that in mind while you're packing up your goodies. It might also be helpful to know that
dry ice and loose ice are not permitted. Ice packs or cold packs are recommended.
Now, as for where to eat! Again, while there isn't a dedicated picnic area, there are lots of spots for you to use. If you're going full picnic style and bringing a blanket to spread out on the ground, I recommend the hub area with idyllic views of
Cinderella Castle.
If you're looking for more seclusion, head on over to
Tom Sawyer Island! This is the perfect spot to feel like you've been transported into the wilderness.
Finally, if you're looking for an easy spot to find a table, there are a few Quick-Service locations, like
Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland, with open outside tables that you can use.
Dawn, I hope this helps as you are getting ready for your trip! Wishing you a day full of pixie dust and Magical moments. Come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions you might have,
Lauren
