Hi there, Holly! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
The Disneyland Resort has a large variety of
dining options to suit every taste and budget. You are correct that the kids menus are designed for children up to age 9. However, in my experience, and in speaking with a Cast Member, most restaurants aren't too strict when it comes to older kids ordering off the kids menu. So definitely don't restrict your dining options at the Disneyland Resort because I'm positive that your child will find something appetizing at nearly every location. I recommend making reservations for any table-service meal up to 60 days in advance either online or by calling (714) 781-3463.
Another great option for picky eaters would be a
buffet. With so much delicious food to choose from, your child is sure to find something they like. Keep in mind, however, that your 11-year-old will be charged the adult price at buffets. You are also free to bring in your own snacks when you visit the parks if you prefer. I like to keep granola bars, apple slices, and crackers on-hand whenever I'm at the parks with my child.
I hope you and your family have a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
