Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Brock!
Brock, are you getting so excited about your upcoming
Walt Disney World vacation? It will be here before your know it. I bet the countdown is on! I love vacationing in May at Walt Disney World. The temperature is nice and warm, perfect for afternoon swims at the pool.
I totally understand having a picky eater. My daughter used to be that way but I am pleased to report that she has officially grown out of that stage. Technically, Brock, the children's menus at Walt Disney World restaurant are reserved for those Guests ages 9 and under. However, I've had great luck with ordering my daughter something off of the kid's menu when nothing on the main menu has sparked her interest. In fact, I've even ordered a chicken breast off of the kid's menu at
The Plaza Restaurant before to add to a salad that I got there one time. It was no problem at all. Walt Disney World, in general, wants its Guests to be happy and goes out of its way to be as accommodating as they can. I don't think you'll have any problems getting your son something to eat that he will like. I've even had the chef come out and personally speak to my daughter about things she likes and doesn't like and they've created something not even found on that particular menu.
Pricing-wise, it is going to depend on the restaurant that you are at. If you are at a restaurant where you just select a single entree item off of a menu, you can pretty much plan on being charged the kid's meal price. When I ordered a chicken breast off of the kid's menu that's all I was charged. However, if you are dining at all-you-care-to-enjoy places or places with a prix fixe menu, you will more than likely be required to pay the adult charge since it is based on age and not what you actually consume. This is also going to vary greatly based on the server that you have since it will be up to their discretion. I think it wouldn't hurt to ask your server about the situation right when you get there so you all know what to expect and kindness is going to go a long way for you.
Brock, I hope this helps! If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to
reach back out to me. I'm happy to help.
Enjoy!
