How does physical access work with the MDE app in regards to tapping in with a party? If I have kids that do not have a phone, does my single tap in a LL "check in" all members of my party? Or does each party member need a MB or NFC device?

    Hello, Cal! Welcome to planDisney!

Your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is just around the corner – very exciting! The My Disney Experience app is an excellent tool that offers a ton of complimentary services, such as Genie (used to plan your day based on your input and a tip board to check wait times around the park) and MagicMobile (serving as your park ticket, connecting PhotoPass to your account, facilitating charges to your Disney Resort Collection hotel, and allowing you to redeem virtual queue or Lightning Lane selections).

To ensure a smooth entry into the parks and to fully leverage MagicMobile, you'll want to first link your tickets to your Disney account. Then, open your My Disney Experience app, click on the three-line menu icon in the bottom-right corner, and select “Disney MagicMobile” to set up your pass and pass style. Finally, click the plus icon (+) and follow the prompts to add your MagicMobile pass to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

For Apple users, Express Mode is enabled when you add the pass to your wallet, allowing you to hold your device to the touchpoint without opening your wallet or unlocking your device – how easy is that? Express Mode also lets you swipe to passes of any guests in your party. Android users will need to unlock their devices before using their MagicMobile pass, but it’s just as straightforward. This same process can be used for checking in at virtual queues and Lightning Lane entrances.

You also have the option to visit Guest Relations at the entrance of one of the theme parks, where a helpful Cast Member can assist you in linking your account to a plastic card. We've had to do this when we forgot a MagicBand before. The Cast Member can scan your My Disney Experience app, link a card to the guest from your Friends & Family list, and you'll be on your way!

Cal, I hope this answers any questions you may have. If you have additional questions, feel free to ask me directly, and I would be happy to assist!

Enjoy your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World!
