Hi Marc,
Thanks for stopping by with your question about Disney's PhotoPass. It absolutely does still exist.
Disney's PhotoPass is the name of the overall service of the photographers within the Walt Disney World Resort.
Memory Maker is just one of its products that includes unlimited digital images taken by the PhotoPass photographers in the parks, select dining locations and select attractions for one package price. Keep in mind that this package only includes the digital files of those photographs and any prints that you may want would need to be purchased separately or printed on your home computer once you return home and download the files. However, if you feel that you might purchase a majority of your photos, this could be the cost effective way to go without paying for individual photos. If you pre-purchase it at least 3 days prior to your trip, there is an advance purchase discount.
You can still have the option of utilizing the photographers without purchasing the Memory Maker product for individual photos. If you feel that you might only want a handful of photos from your vacation, you could simply ask a PhotoPass photographer for a basic PhotoPass card and then use it for the duration of your trip. There is no obligation to purchase. Once you return home, or even while you are there, you can view your photos, make edits and purchase either the digital file or a hard copy of the photo for a separate price.
I hope this clarifies this amazing service for you. I, for one, am a huge fan of Disney's PhotoPass since I tend to be the family photographer on our vacations. This way, I get to be in some of the photos with my family!
Say Cheese!
