Will a photocopy of my birth certificate be suffice for my cruise?

Ahoy there, Katherine! Thank you for sailing by planDisney before you sail away on your Disney Cruise Line vacation.

U.S. Citizens on round-trip sailings that depart from and return to the United States need an original state-issued birth certificate if not using an original valid U.S. passport, passport card, or Trusted Traveler Card. A photocopy is not sufficient. Guests 16 years and older who are using an original birth certificate also need a physical government-issued photo ID. Digital/mobile state-issued IDs are not acceptable to sail.

Katherine, make sure to keep your citizenship documentation in your carry-on bag and not your checked luggage. You will need to present the physical copies at the cruise terminal before boarding. Guests who do not have the correct documentation will be denied boarding. Take a look at the prohibited item list as well, so that you don't mistakenly pack something that will be confiscated.

If you have any questions, planDisney has answers. Come back to visit us anytime.

    Bon Voyage!
