Hello, Mary,
Thank you for sending a question my way; I'm so happy to help again with your 40 anniversary trip to WDW!
With my parents' 50th anniversary, we, too, had a photo session with a Disney photographer and had an hour long session. This allowed us to do various combinations of big family, separate families, just grandchildren, etc. We took our pictures out at Sunset Point at the beach so we could easily bring my mother there in her wheelchair and borrowed the patio chair from their room. She transferred to the chair where she stayed while the rest of us moved around her as we did the various family combinations.
With the hour time, we didn't feel any pressure to rush, which made my mother more relaxed. We also had additional pictures of all the grandchildren on the beach and in the hammocks (they are so cute!). We even had some extra time so we all relocated to inside the Polynesian Resort for pictures with all the tropical plants and water features in the lobby.
These pictures are truly a priceless treasure for all of us.
I'm limited on space, but I have to share two quick celebration ideas: If you'd really like to splurge, the Chef's Table at
Victoria & Albert's is my suggestion, but there are plenty of other places to celebrate that aren't as costly. One of the
speciality fireworks cruises is also quite memorable. The concierge staff will be able to help you with these reservations or any others that you are interested in as well as other ideas for celebrations.
