What should I do with my phone at the water parks? And can I pay with a magic band instead of carrying my phone with me.

    Hi Renana!

Welcome to planDisney!  It sounds like you are busy planning what I’m sure will be a SPLASH-tacular visit to one (or both!) of Disney’s water parks.  Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park are favorites in our family - especially when we’re planning a trip during the summertime.  I was just at both water parks last month with my teenage son and had the best time enjoying everything they had to offer!

Renana, when I visit the water parks, I typically rent a locker to store our valuable items for the day.  Locker rentals are available at several locations in each water park, but I usually grab one located near the entrance so I can easily pick everything up before leaving.  I also like to bring a waterproof pouch to wear around my neck and carry my phone when I want to keep it with me.  While this is a popular option, it’s important to keep in mind that you may not be able to take your cell phone pouch on all attractions due to safety reasons.  If you’re interested in using one, I’ve often seen them for sale at the water parks.

When it comes time to purchase souvenirs, food, beverages, or anything else you need during your day, you can absolutely use your MagicBand to charge purchases back to your room, as long as you are a Guest staying at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection.  Don’t forget to set up your 4-digit PIN either at the front desk during check-in or in your My Disney Experience Mobile App, as you’ll need this to make purchases.

planDisney Pro Tip - Looking for a great place to eat lunch at Typhoon Lagoon?  My top choice is Leaning Palms.  The menu here has something to please everyone in my family - even my picky eaters!  Plus, it's located right next to Happy Landings Ice Cream so you can grab a Sand Pail Sundae to share with your group once you've finished your lunch!

Whether you choose to spend your day racing down Summit Plummet, or you decide to relax the day away on Castaway Creek, I hope you have the best day ever, Renana!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we’re all ears!

    Cheers!
