Hi there, Kelcey! Welcome to planDisney! A holiday trip to the Happiest Place on Earth is a great way to ring in the holly jolly of the season. I can see that you are hoping to visit in just a few weeks, so let's jump right into your question before the snow starts to fall!
It sounds like you have
single-day Park Hopper tickets! You will love exploring all the offerings of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park and park hopping between the two as much as you like after 1 p.m.! As you have discovered, single-day tickets are sold on a
tier system with pricing dependent on the day of the week and the time of the year. If you are looking to change your
theme park reservations to a day that falls in a higher tier, you will need to upgrade your ticket. Currently, the only way to do this is with an in-person visit to the ticket booths in the Esplanade. If there is any way to make this journey ahead of your park day, that would be ideal as you will also need to secure a theme park reservation. Trying to upgrade and visit on the same day would require same-day reservations to be available, and even Madame Leota's crystal ball can't predict if that will be the case! I know, that's likely not the pixie-dusted news you were hoping to hear! If you are not local to the Disneyland Resort, my best advice is to reach out to
Guest Services directly to discuss your particular situation. They would be happy to run through any options that might be available to you!
While I know this might be a bit of an out-of-the-box solution and will not fit into all budgets, you could consider holding on to your current Park Hopper tickets for another visit at some point in the future and purchasing a new set of tickets for December 8th. This would allow you to get your tickets and reservations all settled for your upcoming visit without waiting until your arrival. Who doesn't love a reason to return to the magic?! Before going this route, double-check the expiration date on those current tickets by pulling them up in the
Disneyland Mobile App and looking just under the barcode. The Disneyland Resort knows that sometimes life can throw a pumpkin in your path so there is usually quite a long runway for that magic carpet in case plans need to change. Even if for some reason you aren't able to visit ahead of the expiration, you can always put the
value of an expired ticket towards the purchase of a new ticket, so the magic never fully burns out! Once you've determined your expiration date, set those tickets aside and purchase your new set for December 8th. Magic awaits!
Kelcey, I sure hope this was helpful! If you have any questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney!
Never stop dreaming!
