Hi Allison!
Thank you for bringing your question to
planDisney! I am happy to help answer your question by providing information on a few different aspects.
Walt Disney World has
dog-friendly accommodations at four resort hotels:
Disney's Art of Animation,
Port Orleans-Riverside,
Disney's Yacht Club, and
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. Certain floors at these resorts are designated as dog-friendly. Guests may have up to 2 dogs per room.
However, other than service animals, other animals are not allowed in theme parks, water parks, or common areas. In regard to the term "service animal," according to the official guidelines, service animals are defined as "a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability." Cats are not included in this definition. As such, cats are not currently allowed at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.
You mentioned that your cat is an Emotional Support Animal. Walt Disney World does offer a variety of solutions to accommodate special needs. You can find out more about the many services and access options available at Walt Disney World by visiting the
Services for Guests with Disabilities website.
If you would like to speak with a cast member regarding any special accommodations that you may need in relation to a disability, visit the
Accommodating Guests with Disabilities site. Eligible Guests can pre-register for DAS Advance virtually with a Cast Member, using live video chat. You may also call disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com.
While you are at Walt Disney World, consider checking out the new
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCOT! I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
