Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sandy!
Many years ago, I remember seriously considering bringing my two Labrador retrievers to our vacations at Walt Disney World Resort. However, at that time, there were no dog-friendly accommodations on-site for my furry babies.
Last year,
a pilot program was introduced designating 4 Disney Resort hotels with dog-friendly accommodations. Namely,
• Disney's Art of Animation Resort
• Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
• Disney's Yacht Club Resort
• The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
Currently, dogs are the only pets allowed on-property. A maximum of two dogs per Guest room are permitted on the reservation. Dogs are expected to be well-behaved, leashed in public areas and properly vaccinated.
The above being said, it is my understanding that the dog-friendly pilot program is scheduled to end sometime next month. If you would like more information, including any additional restrictions and policies, or the precise termination date of the program, please contact 407-W-DISNEY, (407-934-7639).
To find out about off-site pet friendly accommodations, a web search for "pet friendly rooms near Walt Disney World Resort", should return a few other options.
Do keep in mind, that whether you stay on-site or off-property, other than
Service Animals, pets are
not permitted in theme parks, water parks or common areas such as restaurants, pools and recreational spaces.
I hope you found this information useful, Sandy. Please come back soon with more Disney vacation planning questions.
Wishing you a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
