Hey there, Carlos! Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question.
Bringing your pup to
Walt Disney World sure does sound like a fun idea, right? I think my dog, Sparkles, and Pluto would get along swell! While this program is still considered in a trial phase, many Guests have successfully vacationed with their dog at Walt Disney World. Currently, there are
four dog-friendly Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. While these hotels don't necessarily charge a pet deposit, there is a nightly fee for bringing your dog with you.
There are a couple of rules to keep in mind if traveling with your dog to Walt Disney World interests you. There can only be 2 dogs per hotel room and they must be well behaved. If your dog isn't fairing well inside of your resort hotel room and is barking a lot, you'll receive a phone call and will need to tend to your dog within 30 minutes. Also, your dog must be leashed at all times and unless it's a service dog, your dog will only be allowed in certain areas of the resort to relieve itself and to stretch its legs. You'll also be required to show proof upon arrival that your dog is fully vaccinated so be sure to get that information from your vet before your trip. In Pluto's Welcome Kit, a fun little gift for your dog, you'll be given food and water bowls, a mat, doggie clean-up bags and a few other items that you may need during your stay. However, food is not included in this packet and to my knowledge, there isn't a place to buy dog food on Walt Disney World property. You'll want to make sure you bring plenty from home for your pup.
If leaving your dog in your hotel room all day while you visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks worries you, you can actually take your dog over to
Best Friends Pet Care. This is an on-property pet daycare and boarding facility and for an extra charge will take care of your pet all day so you can visit the parks worry-free. Their hours are so convenient opening up one hour prior to the Walt Disney World Theme Park opening and closing one hour after. I've actually been to the facility and it's amazing!
Bringing your furry friend to the Most Magical Place on Earth takes a bit of planning but I'm sure it will be a vacation you'll never forget. I hope this helps, Carlos. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.
