Hiya, Stuart! You're as welcome as can be here at
planDisney. I sure am happy to see you!
Woah, my friend! How exciting is it that you're planning on surprising your daughter with a trip to
Disneyland Resort? I am very jealous (in the best way!). Some of my very best Disney vacations actually started with a surprise of some sort, whether it was I who surprised my younger cousins, or my parents who surprised me and my brother. It's just so magical to see the kids' faces light up when they learn the enchanting news, so I couldn't be happier to assist you today!
A few years ago,
shopDisney ran a campaign for personalized video messaging from various Disney characters. I actually tried it out once, and it was amazing! Unfortunately, that service has been retired and I have no way of knowing if or when it might come back. However, there are a couple other ideas that come to mind at this time:
- You could create your own personalized video through Canva! I create videos on that platform all the time, and I really recommend it. It's very user-friendly, the stickers are gorgeous, and there are hundreds of pre-made templates to choose from, so you won't need to worry about it being too time-consuming.
- You could plan for a scavenger hunt! This is by far my favorite way to surprise children before a Disney vacation. To do this, you can pick up a couple of goodies from shopDisney, Target, Wal-Mart, or Amazon. Now, hide them all over your house and write a couple of creative clues on colorful pieces of paper in order to help your daughter search for the items. The last clue should lead to you holding a sign! Pro tip: make sure to have someone record the entire thing. You'll thank me later!
All in all, Stuart, just know that there isn't a wrong way to surprise children with a trip to Disneyland. Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure your daughter will be ecstatic! Remember, if you have any other questions, you can always come back here and ask us.
Until then,
Ana Paula
