    For a personalized birthday cake, how much can I expect to be charged? party of 4: 2 bday girls: one loves princesses, other loves fairies. can they do something so specific? also, when i add a celebration to dining reserv, what can I expect them to do?

    Hi Julien!

    There are lots of options when it comes to specialty cakes at Walt Disney World!  You can get a "Celebrate Today!" cake at the podium of any table service restaurant without advance notice for $21, but these cannot be personalized.  For a more detailed cake, it depends on the restaurant where you will be dining.  The cakes are made at different bakeries around Disney World.  I suggest you contact the Disney World Cake Hotline at (407) 827-2253.  This phone number will give you the option to choose the exact restaurant where you will be dining and will connect you with a Cast Member to talk details about your special cake.  You can visit http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/disney-world-cakes-faq/ for some great information about ordering specialty cakes and the options available at various locations and http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2118274 to see some amazing cakes that Disney has created for past guests.

    When you note in your dining reservation that you are celebrating a birthday, they will bring out a cupcake to the guest of honor and sing for them.  *However*, I noted in my reservation for 'Ohana's last week that we were celebrating two birthday's at my table and nothing was done.  This was ok since it was my husband and father, who would rather not get the recognition.  Give the Cast Member at the podium when you check-in a little reminder that you are celebrating a special occasion and they will take care of you.
