Hello Amber, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.
I absolutely love collecting MagicBands. I get really excited when I get the notification to place the order to personalize MagicBands for my upcoming trip. I would be happy to walk you through the process. Whether you are ordering from your computer or the mobile app, the steps are the same. I typically like to place my order about a week after making my FastPass+ selections.
First, you will sign in to My Disney Experience and click on the “
MagicBands and Cards” tab. You will see the option to begin your order by clicking on get started. You will have to confirm the shipping address you would like to have your MagicBands sent. If you skip this step, you will have to pick them up when you check-in.
Next, you will customize the MagicBand color for each member of your family. You can choose from eight solid colors. It’s up to you if you want everyone to have matching colors or pick their favorite color. Finally, you can personalize your MagicBands with a name or nickname for each family member. Your name will appear on the inside of the band behind the Mickey in the center. This will be helpful if everyone should happen to choose the same color. Click save to confirm your order. You have the option to update or make changes to your order until you reach the last day to customize. Your MagicBands usually arrive 2 weeks before your check-in date.
Don't forget to pack your MagicBands in a carry-on bag if you plan to use Disney's Magical Express. You will need them to check-in to board the motor coach and to unlock the door to your Resort Hotel room. You can also use them to enter a Disney Theme Park, redeem a FastPass+ experience, charge meals and merchandise to your room and add photos to your Memory Maker!
